This is the custom recipe I’ve been using for most of my photography lately especially on holiday or when I’m just out shooting casually. It’s what I used on my recent trip to Madeira and honestly, I think it handled the mix of weather, light, and colour really well. The tones are a bit moodier without being too heavy, and it gives you a look that feels finished straight out of camera.
Perfect if you don’t want to spend time editing and just want to enjoy the process.
Here’s the recipe I used:
- Film Simulation: Classic Chrome
- Dynamic Range: DR400
- White Balance: Daylight, Red: +1, Blue: -4
- Highlight: +1
- Shadow: +2
- Color: +1
- Sharpness: -2
- Noise Reduction: -4
- Clarity: 0
- Grain Effect: Weak, Small
- Color Chrome Effect: Weak
- Color Chrome FX Blue: Off
- ISO: Auto up to 6400
- Exposure Compensation: Typically around -1/3 to +1/3
I’ll often shoot this in JPEG only if I’m just out and about. It’s reliable, easy to tweak with light, and suits a lot of the travel and street stuff I shoot.
If you give it a try, let me know how you get on always keen to see how others use the same recipe in different ways.
